Bishop Allen Chaplaincy
Bishop Allen Academy, founded in 1989, is a large high school of over 1,500 students. Our Chaplaincy Department is composed of a full time teacher-chaplain, a committee of dedicated teachers and an active group of students, entitled 'Students ACT'' (Students Allen Chaplaincy Team).
Bishop Francis Allen was ordained as a priest in 1933 and a Bishop in 1946. Along with his responsibilities with the Archdiocese of Toronto, he worked for Catholic Education as Chairman of the school Board. Our school was named after him when it was established in 1989 in honor of his great work. Bishop Francis Allen died in 1977 and his passion for Catholic Education lives on at Bishop Allen Academy.

Pat Gravelle 1989-1992 First Principal. Mr. Gravelle died in April 2006 but his spirit and his legacy live on at Bishop Allen Academy.
Mr. Gravelle was a much loved gentleman who began Bishop Allen Academy and infused into the school a spirit of welcome and respect and concern for every student. He chose carefully the staff that he wanted because of their Catholic values and their dedication to students. Our school continues the spirit of outreach to others and concern for the good of all the staff and students that was personified in Mr. Patrick Gravelle and continued by Mr. Bill MacKenzie, Ms. Susan Sillery, Mr. Patrick Keyes (1 month) and Mr. Adrian Della Mora (6yrs) and our present Principal, Mr. Stephen Carey.

Lord,
make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me show love where there is injury, pardon where there is doubt, faith where there is despair, hope where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy... O Divine Master,
